A little bit more about me!
Camino de Santiago
After graduating in May, I spent 3.5 weeks walking over 400 miles on the famous Camino de Santiago. I was looking for a new kind of challenge, a way to test my limits, physically and mentally, while also reflecting on this transitional moment in my life. So I set off, alone, to walk across the north of Spain, from Burgos to Finisterre. The Camino is a 1000+ year old pilgrimage route across Spain, ending in Santiago de Compostela, where the remains of St. James are buried in the magnificent cathedral. Although it originated as a Catholic pilgrimage, the Camino now attracts pilgrims from all different backgrounds, from all over the world. I undertook this journey on my own, but the friendships I forged with people of all different ages, countries, and walks of life ended up being the most cherished part of my experience. Though it was extremely difficult, it was also the most rewarding experience of my life–so much so that after arriving in Santiago, I decided to extend my journey by four days and walk to Finisterre, a town on the west coast that served as the historical end of the Camino (because Europeans though it was the end of the world).
