Editorial

As the Summer Intern at Cardinal & Pine, COURIER’s local, digital newsroom in North Carolina, I wrote 12 political and community articles about my home state, which were featured across C&P’s website, social media, and newsletter.

Political Articles

“Opinion: The frightening truth about what Project 2025 would do to education in NC”

“NC voters will be asked to weigh in on one constitutional amendment this year. Here’s what to know.”

“Michele Morrow, GOP candidate to lead NC public schools, once called for security cameras in student bathrooms”

Community Articles

I spearheaded a weekly series called “Good News Friday,” highlighting 3-4 positive local NC stories to combat the overwhelming negativity on social media and in the news cycle.

“Good News Friday: There are signs of progress in the youth mental health crisis in NC”

“Good News Friday: Amazing, medal-winning comebacks from North Carolina’s Olympians”

Press Release

As an Additional Producer Intern for the Foster Care film & Community Engagement Project, I planned a film screening to celebrate one of our documentary short films debuting on PBS. In addition to event logistics, I managed the marketing and press outreach for the premiere, refining our media list, writing a press release, and sending it out to our contacts.

Academic

Below are a couple of my favorite papers I wrote during my time at WashU. The first is a phenomenological analysis of Luca Guadagnino’s Queer (2024), which I wrote for my Film Theory class this past spring. In the second, I dissect the evolution of strategies used by Basque terrorist group ETA for an assignment in a class on political violence during my junior year.
